Illinois White Tails Hunting 2012: Firearm and Tags
Illinois Trophy Whitetails (ITW) provides some of the best white tail deer hunting in Schuyler County Illinois, which ranks second for whitetails.
This area is home to a large population of trophy whitetails due to hunting regulations placed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, which placed restrictions on hunters, and outfitters. The soil made up in this area is rich and is a good source of food for these whitetails.
Firearms and Archery for Hunting
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources limits firearms hunters and outfitters can use to muzzleloaders and shotguns. Rifles and long range guns are not allowed. This limitation has helped to maintain a healthy population of whitetail trophy bucks because short shotgun and muzzleloaders do not have the capacity to kill targets at long distances.
As a result whitetails live longer and get bigger - becoming a real prized trophy game.
The firearms tags and permit system in Illinois is facilitated mainly through a lottery system which Illinois Trophy White Tails Outfitters assist all hunting adventurers with. We help all our customers with information about obtaining the right permits. The requirements are not stringent and almost everyone receives a tag upon paying a small fee.
The Hunting season starts on the 1st of October and ends on the 15th of January.
In addition to shotgun firearm hunts, the state of Illinois offers archery hunting permits.
These tags or permits are easier to obtain than firearms and our outfitting service and quickly help you with this.
These archery and gun tag purchase usually starts in JUNE 1 -30 so you are encouraged to book early so we can start assisting you with getting your tag.
